Welcome to the Penny Lane Central web site. This is my HO model railroad layout which is currently under construction. Which should not take too long to complete because it will only initially measure 4 ft. by 1.5 ft. Despite it's small size, the PLC will be a fully operational model railroad and is based on a British track design.

I have always been fascinated by short line railroads and the smaller equipment that they run. This is especially because I do not have a lot of time nor room for my model railroad. For awhile now, I have been facing the prospect of never having a model railroad until I started reading articles on the smaller model railroads that are so much more common and popular in Europe. Marrying those concepts with what I have learned about modern short line railroads in the USA, I took the plunge and the PLC was born.
